told my parents to never ever tell me they love me again....
by oompa in...i told them in a very serious sitdown in their living room....said..."because if you cant show it then it does not count...that is not real love no matter who tells you it is....because it is how it makes me feel that determines if it is love....not if you just say it...and me and my sons do not feel that love at all now"....and i stayed calm and talked slowly and barely shed a tear as i held them back...and i had asked them to not say a word but just listen...dad said they would as long as it was not about religion as i knew he would.
this was two of the worst days of my life in a row..i told them the pain me and my boys feel from their shunning is worse than if they had died...that then i could grieve naturally and move on because that is normal....grief helps you cope...my grief is different because they choose to act like i am dead and normal grief does not seem to work on that.
i shared an epiphany with them i had about mens rules vs gods great idea of dna (but no i am not sure about a god anymore)it went kinda like this:.

They were being half assed and that brought them comfort. NOW they will feel the full extent of thier choice. It's in your court. Perhaps this will shake them to their senses when they realize how much they miss your family and your love for them. Oppressive damn religion.

Dark Side of the Moon. I remember being at a party and someone was playing it and a parent wanted me to talk to her son about the influnece of such demonic music. I said something generic realizing that I had loved that album for years. That was a real tough one for me to reconcile. I don't care much any longer. Us and Them you know?

As a JW - Did you See Meetings Continue in Spite of Medical Emergencies?
by flipper ini was talking the other day with a fellow board member about medical emergencies occuring at meetings and how we both agreed that we ( while jw's ) had never seen a meeting stop or be cancelled due to medical emergencies experienced by a fellow jw.
the wt society trains jw' s to lose their authentic human feelings or any empathy towards others physical or emotional sufferings many times.
so many times at meetings , in spite of someone suffering a serious medical emergency it was " the show must go on " type of attitude displayed by congregation elders.. my first experience at seeing a medical emergency at the kingdom hall was an older sister who had an epileptic attack.

Sorry to dissapoint but I had a bible student who was about 65 attending the public talk. About 10 minutes into the talk he had a major heart attack. The chairs were pulled back and he was laid out on the floor as the emt's worked on him. Everyone sat quietly. They got a beat but not for very long. He was brain dead. They took him to the hospital and he died 9 days later. The brothers called the meetings off and sent everyone home. No talk, no WT study. Not all JW's are fricken robots, gotta give credit where credit is due. I'm sure this isn't the only incendence of this happening. Even if it is a cult not everyone is heartless. It was a wake up call for me that no day should be taken for granted. I'm sure you'll find many other heartless examples flip, its just that there is a balance here. In my town anyway. It still hurts, he was a really great guy.
